NURSES SPENDING ONLY A THIRD OF THEIR TIME WITH PATIENTS
NURSES are spending as little as a third of their time with patients because of the excessive demands of NHS bureaucracy, the Health Secretary has said. Form filling and paperwork meant that too many nurses spend too little time offering vital support to those in their care, Andrew Lansley said. Only a change of culture in the NHS would allow nurses more time for the essentials of their job, he said.
